Warren Distribution Safety Celebration on May 25, 2010

Presentations of MCMA Scholarships & Political Candidate Forum on May 13, 2010

In attendance and recognized were MCMA Scholarship recipients (L to R): Debbie Bonds, 2009 and renewed for 2010; Sacha Frasier, 2009 and renewed for 2010; Sam Bates, 2010 winner from Boaz HS; Dr. Larry Miller, Chief Academic Officer for Snead State Community College; and Lucia Silvestre, winner from Boaz HS. (Also in attendance but not pictured: Bonsen Edmonds, 2010 winner from Brindlee Mountain HS).
MCMA President, Nick Williams, welcomes members and guests and introduces the program.
MCEDC President, Matt Arnold, served as moderator of the political forum and introduced our candidates for State Legislature.
Each candidate was given an opportunity to state their qualifications for office and briefly address issues of interest and concern to business.
Attendees and candidates had the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one following the conclusion of the forum.
14 of the 16 candidates running for State Legislative office were in attendance along with a good representation of MCMA members and other guests.
Special thanks to Snead State C.C. for allowing us to use the Bevill Center facility on campus and for providing breakfast for the meeting.

MCMA General Membership Meeting on March 25, 2010

Frank McRight, Labor Attorney with Burr Forman, presents a timely update on employment law and labor relations.

 
MCMA President, Nick Williams, presents the MCMA's $3,000 check to Dr. Larry Miller, Dean of Academics, for support of Snead's Career Coach program.
 
The Snead Career Coaches were recognized at the meeting.

Progress Rail Services is awarded one of the Governor's Trade Excellence Awards in a ceremony at the State Capitol on March 11th.
