Hyco Alabama, Inc. Celebrates on September 15, 2010

4 Years with No Lost Time Accidents!

Arab Attorney Rodney Edmondson, State Rep. Jeff McLaughlin, Lauren Whitlock (MCEDC), Arab Mayor Gary Beam, Matt Arnold (MCEDC), and Katy Norton (Arab Chamber).

John Wood (GM of Hyco Alabama), Craig Wolf (CFO of Hyco International), and Ron Whitaker (CEO of Hyco International) grilled over 125 steaks for employees and vistors.

Cash Winners! Hyco presented full time employees with a $125 gift card. Also, 10 $100 prizes, five $500 prizes, four $1,000 prizes, three $1,500 prizes, and one $3,000 prize were given out to hourly employees.

Drawings were also held for $25 and $50 gift cards, and coolers were donated by BB&T and Strategic Comp.

Presentations of MCMA Scholarships & Political Candidate Forum on May 13, 2010

In attendance and recognized were MCMA Scholarship recipients (L to R): Debbie Bonds, 2009 and renewed for 2010; Sacha Frasier, 2009 and renewed for 2010; Sam Bates, 2010 winner from Boaz HS; Dr. Larry Miller, Chief Academic Officer for Snead State Community College; and Lucia Silvestre, winner from Boaz HS. (Also in attendance but not pictured: Bonsen Edmonds, 2010 winner from Brindlee Mountain HS).
MCMA President, Nick Williams, welcomes members and guests and introduces the program.
MCEDC President, Matt Arnold, served as moderator of the political forum and introduced our candidates for State Legislature.
Each candidate was given an opportunity to state their qualifications for office and briefly address issues of interest and concern to business.
Attendees and candidates had the opportunity to meet and talk one-on-one following the conclusion of the forum.
14 of the 16 candidates running for State Legislative office were in attendance along with a good representation of MCMA members and other guests.
Special thanks to Snead State C.C. for allowing us to use the Bevill Center facility on campus and for providing breakfast for the meeting.
